I once observed a man in a wheelchair who had managed to get on the up escalator in the NYC Subway only to have the chair tip over at the top. People coming upon him as they arrived at the top, literally stepped on him or over him as he lay on his side beside the toppled wheelchair, nobody even stopped. I was shocked and unable to get anyone’s attention to help him for at least 5 minutes. Then I noticed a big strong, young man ascending, I looked him directly in the eye and said, you look like a strong man, would you please help me get this man up and back in his wheelchair. He agreed. To this day I am shocked at the total lack of interest on the part of hundreds of passersby to help a fellow human in need.
That crime was horrific. One human burning another is sickening. Thanks for talking about it. I’ve been that person who had to help. Sometimes your not successful but trying is what’s important. Everyone needs to think about it because it’s the moral thing to do. If something is wrong and you can help, do it without reservation. If you walk away you’re part of the problem. You’re just being human if you step in. But do keep yourself safe. Sometimes it can be dangerous.
A couple of weeks ago I drove past a bus stop (outside the front of a Police Station) and a small woman was getting stomped on. A circle of people were standing there (men and women) doing nothing. Not even running to get a copper. I sounded my horn, pulled up and ran over. The attacker had run off, and this poor woman’s face was bloodied and she was shaking. The strangest thing happened. All of a sudden, the people who had been standing there came up to me to explain why they hadn’t done anything. I hope it was out of embarrassment or shame. Only because if they are in a similar position again they are more likely to act 🤷♂️

That should never happen in our country

Amen!!
This was a horrible tragedy. How no one helped is beyond me. Yes Rome went down but I hope we all wake up before it’s too late!
Drop and roll, wrap her in somethi g to smother the fire. My God in heaven. I had no idea it was like that.😟
Who was the woman? Did the cops catch the perp?
Was it fake?
What a stupid comparison.
