the $12M Clif Bars Class Action Settlement?
A $12,000,000 class action lawsuit has been settled over allegations that Clif bars were falsely advertised as nutritional and healthy. The $12 million class action lawsuit against Clif Bar& Company alleged that the company misled consumers by labeling its Clif Bars and Clif Kid ZBars with claims that suggested the products were healthy, despite their high added sugar content.
TheClif bars class action lawsuit argued that terms like "nutrition" and "nourishing" on the packaging were misleading, leading consumers to believe the bars were healthier than they actually were. The following claims about Clif Bars have been challenged, as written on some Clif Bar packaging:
• “Nutrition for Sustained Energy”
• “No High Fructose Corn Syrup”
• “Nourishing Kids in Motion”
• “In raising our family, finding nutritious on-the-go snacks for our kids wasn't easy. That's why we created Clif Kid - whole
some, delicious snacks made with organic ingredients to help keep kids going, growing, and exploring.”
• “Blend of carbs, fiber, protein, and fat gives kids energy so they can keep Zipping and Zooming along.”
Clif Bar denies any wrongdoing but agrees to a settlement to avoid further litigation.
