📱Apple® $25 Million Family Sharing Class Action Settlement
Payout: Up To $30 Claim Form Deadline: March 1, 2024
Apple has settled a $25 million class action lawsuit regarding its "family sharing" feature, which operates on various Apple products such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The consumers represented by the Class Action Lawsuit are asserting that Apple misrepresented the ability of the Family Sharing feature to share single subscriptions to specific apps from the Apple App store with other members of their Family Sharing groups. While Apple denies any wrongdoing or violations of laws, the consumers are confident in their stand.
How Do I Qualify for a Payout?
To qualify for a payout from the Apple class action lawsuit, you must have purchased a subscription to an app through the Apple App Store, during the period from June 21, 2015, through January 30, 2019, and you must have enrolled in a Family Sharing group that had at least one other member at the time of your App purchase. Finally, you must have been a resident of the United States at the time, insofar as Apple's records show residency in the United States at the time of the purchase.
Each Class Member that elects to receive a Class Payment will receive an equal distribution of the settlement, up to $30.00. The amount allocated for the Class Payment will be determined by the overall number of Class Members. The method of payment is anticipated to be in the form of an ACH bank transfer or mailed check.
